Along with the development of digitalization technology, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is a familiar name in the industrial world. The existence of RFID technology is not to replace Barcode technology. In certain business processes, the utilization of RFID Labels/Tags will be more economical and faster than barcode technology. Especially if it is applied in a Close Loop process, where RFID tag can be used repeatedly. In contrast to the barcode scanning process, which is generally done one by one, the scanning process of this RFID tag is fast and can be done all at once.
RFID is part of the ‘Automatic Identification and Data Capture’ (AIDC) technology or abbreviated as Auto-ID. In general, RFID components are divided into two parts. The first one is the RFID Tag (to be read) which is a device composed of several integrated electronic circuits and antennas. Generally, RFID tags can be passive or active. Both have a memory to store data or information related to the device installed with this RFID Tag. The second RFID component is the RFID Reader (reads) which is used to read the RFID tag.
Supply chain activities consist of the goods flow process, from manufacturing until the product reaches the customer. In this process, there are production, distribution, and transportation stages. To support these supply chain management activities, Zebra Technologies provides Zebra MC333X and Zebra FX7500 RFID technology solutions that can identify, categorize, and manage the availability of goods. With this technology, users can find out information about the item just by scanning the tags and without having to disassemble the boxes or poly bags. The convenience and swiftness that are provided by RFID technology can be experienced by all parties such as suppliers, factory owners, distributors, retailers, and buyers.
Zebra MC333X is an RFID reader that is easy to carry anywhere because it is the lightest in its class and is designed for easy one-handed use, both right and left hand. This RFID reader has a 35% larger battery capacity than other RFID readers which can improve operational activities in the field.
Zebra FX7500 is an RFID reader that is fixed to the reading points. This reading point can usually be a conveyor, gate, intermediate area, or others. This Fixed Reader will read every RFID tag that passes through it and send information quickly and accurately to the server/data processing for transactions recording.
